corporate case studies and testimonials – draft
Support from our corporate partners makes a significant contribution to our work. The case studies below highlight how some of our partners are helping to tackle food poverty and food waste.
Since 2005, Sodexo and FareShare have been working together to tackle hunger and poor nutrition through Sodexo’s STOP Hunger campaign. Volunteering is at the heart of this partnership, with more than 130 Sodexo employees helping to deliver FareShare food to community projects last year.
Volunteering gives employees the chance to make a real difference, promoting team-building and pride and inspiring STOP Hunger fundraising.
One Sodexo employee who recently volunteered in London said this: “Seeing things first hand and being part of the excellent service FareShare provides in the community to those not as fortunate as ourselves was quite humbling. I would definitely volunteer again”.
“FareShare is aligned to BNY Mellon’s global Community Partnership programme in its commitment to environmental sustainability and supporting our local communities. Food security and wastage are ever more urgent issues in today’s society and FareShare is strategically placed to tackle these, making a real difference to people in need and also creating a positive solution to food waste in the UK. BNY Mellon and our employees really enjoy working with FareShare and are proud to be supporting such a worthwhile cause and doing our bit to fight hunger.”

With a new three-year commitment (2013 – 2016), Cargill will enable FareShare to provide its current member charities in Manchester & Liverpool with even more food, and also expand its reach to supply food to more charities across the North West.
“State Street are proud to have been working with FareShare for a number of years as we are passionate about improving the economic sustainability of our local communities. FareShare’s work is tremendously important in fighting both hunger and food waste, feeding thousands of vulnerable people every day and at the same time helping to reduce the environmental costs of unnecessary food waste. Through delivering their mission, FareShare provide valuable training and education opportunities for volunteers which are aimed to enhance employability prospects, and this aligns perfectly with State Street’s social investment focus of workforce development. FareShare deliver huge social, environmental and economic benefits and it is this uniqueness which very much appeals to State Street.”
