We’re fresh back from our annual FareShare meet up, which brings together all of our twenty UK centres to share experiences, ideas and take part in inspiring debates too. As well as thinking about how we can save more food from waste and get it to more people in need in the coming year, we took the time to reflect on what we’ve been most proud of in the past year. Here’s some of our highlights:
This summer FareShare Greater Manchester worked with holiday clubs to make sure children who might not have to eat at home didn’t go without in the holidays.
As well as redistributing much needed food, our FareShare centres support volunteers into employment by providing skills and experience. It’s always a happy moment when someone gets a job – and even more so when they commit to coming back to volunteer in their spare time!
After opening just 18 months ago, Matt and the team at FareShare Southern Central are supporting over 100 charities and community groups in and around Southampton (our Community Food Members, or CFMs) with food.
