Fareshare Yorkshire has won the Partner of the Year award in the Leeds City Council Cities and Communities Awards for Excellence (8 October 2015).
The nine awards are given out each year for exceptional commitment to working with the council for the people of Leeds. In 2014/15 Fareshare Yorkshire redistributed 407 tonnes of good food to 140 charities and community groups in the region, which helped to feed nearly 7,000 people.
Chief Executive (FareShare Yorkshire) Gareth Batty says: This award is great recognition for the fantastic Partnership work we have been doing in Leeds. The strength of these partnerships ensures that vulnerable people have access to food when and where they need it and that as FareShare we feed people first.”
Fareshare Yorkshire will now be entered into the full corporate awards in December.
