Kenneth’s story: “The best bit? Seeing where the food goes”

We recently said goodbye and good luck to our fantastic FareShare London volunteer Kenneth as he headed off to start a new job.

Kenneth had been out of work since leaving prison in 2013. When he started at FareShare in April this year he was determined to find work. He took part in our Structured Support programme where staff are matched to volunteers to help with job hunting. After four months, he landed a role with a food company.

We caught up with Kenneth on his last day and he told us “FareShare’s kept me out of trouble! It’s helped me; it’s prepared me to get back to work and has given me work experience. Everyone’s friendly and bubbly to talk to.”

A highlight for Kenneth was delivering food to charities across the capital and seeing how he was making a difference, he says “the best bit was going out on the van, seeing where the food’s going to.”

Good luck Kenneth!
