Michael’s story: “I’m never on a downer now”

22 September 2015

Goodbye and good luck to our brilliant volunteer Michael, who started volunteering with FareShare London in 2013 and this summer clinched his dream job in warehousing.

When Michael first came to FareShare, he was struggling to find warehousing work because of his lack of experience. He says: “I had no experience and now I have so much – how to pick and pack, unload vans, health and safety and how to do it efficiently. I’ve loved this placement!”

Before he left, Michael said that he had gained much more than work experience at FareShare – he could see positive changes in himself: “Before I was here I was misbehaving. I’ve seen a lot of changes in myself. FareShare’s changed me. The group of people here are great and supportive. I’m never on a downer now, I just get on with it. ”
