FareShare wins 'Britain's Most Admired Charity' Award

Last night, FareShare won the award as ‘Britain’s Most Admired Charity' at the Third Sector Awards ceremony hosted by Barclays in Docklands.

FareShare was one of five nominees, alongside RNIB, RNLI, Help for Heroes and The Woodland Trust. The nominees were chosen by Third Sector and a panel of advisers, and the awards were voted for by CEO’s of charities and social businesses working in the third sector.

Tony Lowe, FareShare CEO says:
“To be shortlisted against such high profile and well respected charities was amazing enough, so to win this is a huge honour for the charity.

We are very pleased to gain this recognition, which we see as a result of FareShare’s achievements since becoming an independent charity. This award is for all involved, our staff, our partner organisations and our volunteers.

Food waste and food poverty are key challenges for the UK in 2010. Winning this prestigious award will help FareShare bring these important issues to wider public attention while at the same time making many organisations in the third sector aware of how FareShare can help them improve their services to vulnerable people across the UK.”
