FareShare East Midlands redistributes surplus food to charities and community groups in Leicester, Leicestershire and the East Midlands, providing a lifeline to over 4,500 people living in the community.
Volunteering opportunities are available at the FareShare warehouse. The East Midlands team work with external agencies, such as the Probation Service, to provide essential work based experience for those that are struggling to enter employment. One young volunteer, who had no previous warehousing experience, spent three months with FareShare East Midlands and is now employed on a permanent basis at Caterpillar in Desford.
